Colleen Murtagh Paratore is “Troy-Lit” – lit up with energy and excitement about the forward momentum of our noble city, expanding the spotlight on downtown to shine on our outer districts and neighborhoods so that all residents can truly “Enjoy Troy.” Colleen was born and raised in South Troy, attended Catholic Central High in Lansingburgh, was Director of Communications for the Sage Colleges, elected trustee of the Troy Public Library and 6-year Board Member of the YWCA in downtown Troy, and now lives by Frear Park. The proud mother of three grown sons, she teaches writing at The Arts Center of the Capital Region, is an adjunct instructor at Sage, inspires young writers at school visits throughout the state and adult writers through her small business, ABC for YOU, A Book Coach for You. She is the award-winning author of 21 books, including three set in Troy. Founder of TREAT (Troy Reads Every August Together) and member of the Rensselaer County Chamber of Commerce, Colleen proudly supports many local non-profits. She holds a BA from the College of St. Rose, Albany, and MA from Trinity College, Hartford, CT. More online at www.coleenparatore.com
